Pecan Grove Country Club Purchase

Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District (the “District”) has closed on the purchase of the Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club. The District has leased a portion of the purchased facilities (the golf course and country club building) to “The Club at Pecan Grove, Inc.” Residents of the District and the general public will have access to the leased facilities pursuant to the terms of the lease agreement entered into by and between the District and “The Club at Pecan Grove, Inc.”

The tennis courts, pool & workout facility were purchased by the District and will become open to the public for use and enjoyment. The District will post rules and guidelines for these facilities in the near future.

Fort Bend County Road & Bridge Completes First Round of Storm Debris Collection in Pecan Grove: Second Passthrough Planned

Fort Bend County Road & Bridge has completed its first round of large storm debris collection, which includes construction and fence debris in Pecan Grove. They will return for a second passthrough at a later date.

Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – July 30, 2024

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Administration Building at 5:30 p.m. on July 30, 2024. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at 12:00 Noon. As of July 30, 2024, there are 4,529 email subscribers to PGMUD notifications.

Parks Report

  • Storm damage in the parks is being handled by CDC and Fort Bend County Road and Bridge department.
  • A new sign for reservations and for park rules was installed near the pavilion in Pecan Grove Park.
  • The installation of the new workout equipment along the walking trail in Pecan Grove Park is complete.
  • New window vents were installed in the restrooms in Pecan Grove Park.

Operator’s Report – Si Environmental, LLC

  • June 2024 testing showed that the drinking water system met the state and federal compliance standard for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month.
  • The replacement of the gate at the SWTP is complete.
  • The repair of the flanged column piping on the High Service Pump is complete as is the replacement of the belt press poly feed system and the High Service Motor #3.
  • The replacement of the solenoid valve manifold and mixer pump at the SWTP are in process.
  • At Water Plant #1, the 8” Prop Meter and Totalizer replacement is complete.
  • Fabrication of the generator chords for the new portable generators is in process as is levee sluice gate valve stem replacement.

New action items approved at the meeting include:

  • Repair of the bulk bleach tank at the SWTP
  • Replacement of the booster pump check valves #3 and #4 at Water Plant #1
  • Replacement of the 3” mainline valve and bypass plus the low registering meter at Austin Elementary
  • Buying a backup p&p belt for the WWTP
  • Installing a sidewalk and wheelchair ramp at the NW corner of Pitts and Morton League

The inspection for district lines containing lead and or copper (pre-1989) mandated by the EPA has begun and must be completed by October 16, 2024. Of the 2,580 locations identified, the inspections have been completed on 1,831 or about 71%.

The solenoid valve manifold replacement at the SWTP is in process as was the #3 mixer pump for the sedimentation basin. Fabrication of an additional set of generator chords to allow the use of the portable generators at multiple lift stations simultaneously was authorized as well as the replacement of the valve stem on the levee sluice gate behind Randalls.

The annual fire hydrant flushing found some repairs and painting on the units. The water well performance testing went well with no problems uncovered in the testing.

On June 24, 2024, Si Enviro responded to a sanitary discharge due to a cracked force main pipe at 2035 FM 359. After shutdown, the main was repaired and the area washed down.

The program to replace high usage residence meters in the district has replaced 1,628 meters since January 2023 with none this month.
