No Power at Tennis Courts

Due to an electrical outage from the storm Saturday, we have no power to the tennis courts. We are working to fix the problem.

In preparation for the forecasted winter storm this weekend, we will temporarily close recreational facilities while prioritizing safety of our community.

Vandalism at Pecan Lakes Pump Station – Community Assistance Needed

At the Pecan Lakes Pump Station located in Pecan Grove MUD, our facility has been vandalized four times within the last few months, the most recent being Saturday evening at 7pm.

This facility is under video surveillance, and we hope you can help put a stop to these actions. Repairs are costly and the taxpayers bear the burden.

If you know these kids, please discuss the importance of their actions, if they are caught, damages to governmental property are a federal offense and charges can be brought. In addition, there are open wells and high voltage equipment that could be fatal to someone in the facility who is unaware of the equipment.

If you have any information related to these damages, please contact the Pecan Grove MUD office at 281-238-5000. As well, two police reports have been filed, if you see any suspicious activity, please report immediately to Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office at 281-341-4665.

Operation of Electric Personal Assistive Mobility Devices and Motor-Assisted Scooters

Sec. 551.202. OPERATION ON ROADWAY

(a) A person may operate an electric personal assistive mobility device on a residential street, roadway, or public highway with a speed limit of 30 miles per hour or less only:

(1) while making a direct crossing of a highway in a marked or unmarked crosswalk;

(2) where no sidewalk is available; or

(3) when so directed by a traffic control device or by a law enforcement officer.

(b) A person may operate an electric personal assistive mobility device on a path set aside for the exclusive operation of bicycles.

(c) Any person operating an electric personal assistive mobility device on a residential street, roadway, or public highway shall ride as close as practicable to the right-hand edge.

(d) Except as otherwise provided by this section, provisions of this title applicable to the operation of bicycles apply to the operation of electric personal assistive mobility devices.

Sec. 551.352. OPERATION ON ROADWAYS OR SIDEWALKS

(a) A motor-assisted scooter may be operated only on a street or highway for which the posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour or less. The motor-assisted scooter may cross a road or street at an intersection where the road or street has a posted speed limit of more than 35 miles per hour.

(b) A county or municipality may prohibit the operation of a motor-assisted scooter on a street, highway, or sidewalk if the governing body of the county or municipality determines that the prohibition is necessary in the interest of safety.

(c) The department may prohibit the operation of a motor-assisted scooter on a highway if it determines that the prohibition is necessary in the interest of safety.

(d) A person may operate a motor-assisted scooter on a path set aside for the exclusive operation of bicycles or on a sidewalk. Except as otherwise provided by this section, a provision of this title applicable to the operation of a bicycle applies to the operation of a motor-assisted scooter.

(e) A provision of this title applicable to a motor vehicle does not apply to a motor-assisted scooter.
