Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – January 30, 2025

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Administration Building at noon on January 30, 2025. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at 5:30 p.m.

Parks and Facilities Report

  • New cameras have been installed at Pecan Grove Park and at the pool and workout facilities at the club.
  • New access locks with key fobs are being installed at the tennis and pool gates at the club.
  • The work on the fences for the tennis courts has been completed.
  • A contract for maintaining the workout building was signed.
  • The problems with HVAC at the Administration/Community building are being addressed.

The Club at Pecan Grove

  • Chuck Odom reported that repairs are progressing on the golf course irrigation system.
  • Plans for 2025 include a budget of $1.75 million to rebuild 18 holes.
  • Overall, the whole course is improving even before the major rebuild project begins.
  • The restroom buildings have been repaired and painted.
  • In the Clubhouse, renovations are in process that includes new floor coverings and painting.

Water Accountability

  • December 2024 testing showed that the drinking water and wastewater systems met the state and federal compliance standards for disinfection, and there were no permit excursions for the month.
  • Repairs:
    • Repairs of the SWTP raw pumps #1 and #2 plus the #1 motor are in process.
    • Replacement of the #2 sludge pump was authorized at the meeting.
    • Replacement of the skid C pump and motor is complete.
    • The annual contract for Hach Services for the SWTP will be renewed.
  • New Projects:
    • New surge protection for Water Plant #2 is in process.
    • Replacement of the check valves #3 and #4 was approved.
    • Repair at Lift Station #9 on the #1 motor is in process.
    • Si Enviro was authorized to repair the levee sluice valve on the emergency interconnect with Harvest Green.
  • Fire Hydrants:
    • Repairs to the district’s fire hydrants are in process.
    • Painting of all 412 hydrants is in process.
    • Blue dots that need replacement are being addressed.
  • Elevated Storage Tank:
    • Repair of the altitude valve at the elevated storage tank is in process.
  • Security:
    • New key card access to some of the district’s facilities plus new cameras are in process.
  • Annual Shutdown:
    • The annual shutdown of the SWTP for scheduled maintenance will begin February 7, 2025.
    • At that time, the annual exchange of the Activated Charcoal will be performed, and the cleaning of the raw water intake, sedimentation basin, and the clear well will occur.
  • Meter Replacement:
    • The program to replace high-usage residence meters continues in the district, with 1,669 meters replaced since January 2023.
  • Residents are urged to call Si Enviro first if there is an outside water leak.

TAXES

  • Tax collections for fiscal 2025 have reached just over 12.7% as of 12/31/2024.

Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – December 19, 2024

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Administration Building at 5:00 p.m. on December 19, 2024. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at 12:00 p.m., noon.

During public comments, Mark Miliken asked about plans to clean up the area near Belin Park. Paul Metcalf asked about having a sidewalk from Pecan Grove Park walking trail to the Administration building.

Lieutenant Holz of the Precinct 1 Constable’s office attended the meeting and introduced our new security deputy constables. Director Crow complimented new Deputy Hernandez on the important job he is performing as the director was given a warning citation for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.

Park and Facilities Report

In December, several dead trees were removed in the back of Pecan Grove Park. The pavilions at PG Park and Windmill Park due to vandalism.

The HVAC problems at the Administration building are in the process of being resolved with AAON, the manufacturer. See Engineers report.

The tennis court fencing is being repaired and broken sidewalks have been replaced. The workout building repairs are complete and looking great when the facility opened on December 23, 2024.

Operator’s Report – Si Environmental, LLC

There is an anomaly in the amount produced number that is being investigated.

November 2024 testing showed that the drinking water and wastewater systems met the state and federal compliance standards for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month.

The replacement of the SWTP automation valve is complete as is the CLO2 meter. The repair of Raw Water pump and motor #2 are complete and the replacement of Raw Water motor #3 is complete. Also completed in the last month was the replacement of the check valve at Water Plant #2. The repair of the levee gate near the country club was completed.

The repair of the raw water pump and motor both #1 and #2 at the SWTP and the repair of Lift Station #9 lift pump are in process. Also in process is the installation of cameras at four district facilities.

The fire hydrant repairs plus the painting of 412 hydrants with only 30 hydrants left to repair. The replacement of missing or broken blue dots is in process.

Si Environmental requested authorization to replace the SWTP Skid C pump and motor plus the purchase of a surge protection device at Water Plant #2 and the repair of the altitude valve at the elevated storage tank.

The annual shutdown of the SWTP for scheduled maintenance will begin February 1, 2025. At that time the annual exchange of the Activated Charcoal will be performed.

The program to replace high usage residence meters continues in the district with 1,658 meters replaced since January 2023.

Taxes

Tax collections for fiscal 2025 have reached just over 5% as of 11/30/2024. Remember PGMUD as well as county taxes are due by January 31, 2025.

Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – November 19, 2024

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Administration Building at 3:30 p.m. on November 19, 2024. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 19, 2024, in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at 5:00 p.m.   This is a week earlier than is typical due to the holidays.

PGMUD and the homeowner’s associations are switching the security coverage from the sheriff’s office to the Precinct 1 Constable’s office. We did not receive statistics for November as only one deputy so far has been working and new schedules and coverage are being worked out.

Parks Report

In November, Christmas lights were installed in Memorial Park and at the Administration building.  For the holiday lighting season, no parking will be allowed at Windmill Park and in the parking lot of the Club. This should reduce some of the traffic congestion after dark.

The service agreement with Time and Season is being amended to include the maintenance of the tennis courts, swimming pool and workout facility.

October 2024 testing showed that the drinking water and wastewater systems met the state and federal compliance standards for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month.

The replacement of the SWTP Bulk Bleach plus the solenoid valve manifold replacement are complete as is the replacement the low registering meter at Austin Elementary.  The replacement of the basket strainer at the WWTP is complete.

Also, in process are: The replacement of the #1 and #2 check valves at water plant #2, replacement of the 3” mainline valve and bypass plus; and the purchase of 3 new automation valves for the SWTP, replace plus the repair of Lift Station #9 lift pump and repair of the levee gate valve near the club.  The purchase for Water plant #1 of check valves for pumps #3 and #4 are in process.

The fire hydrant repairs plus the painting of 412 hydrants and the replacement of missing or broken blue dots are in process.

Si Environmental requested authorization to replace the CLO2 meter plus repair raw pump #1 and motor and repair of raw motor #2 at the SWTP. Si also asked to buy 23 cameras and 3 door controllers for the SWTP, Club and PG Park.

Breah also reported that she received authorization for emergency replacement of the raw water #3 motor at the SWTP on November 4th.

The program to replace high usage residence meters in the district has replaced 1,650 meters since January 2023 with none this month.

Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – October 29, 2024

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District (PGMUD) took place at the Pecan Grove Administration Building at 3:30 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 19, 2024, at 3:30 p.m., a week earlier than usual due to Thanksgiving.

Since PGMUD and the homeowner’s associations are transitioning security coverage from the sheriff’s office to the Precinct 1 Constable’s office, no statistics were available for October.

Parks Report

During October, a broken picnic table was replaced and new flags for the frisbee golf were received.

The Administration building hosted voting on Election Day.

There are repairs to the tennis court fencing are in process. In addition, trash cans in the tennis court and pool areas are being replaced.

A new fountain was installed in the lake in front of the club.

New wooden fencing was installed around the AC unit at the work out building. Also, work has begun on extensive repairs to the work out building and should be finished by the end of the year.

September 2024 testing showed that the drinking water and wastewater systems met the state and federal compliance standards for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month.

The replacement of the solenoid valve manifold and mixer pump at the SWTP is complete. As is the replacement of the sedimentation basin mixer pump #3. In addition, the purchase of heaters for the SWTP is complete. The generator receptacles for lift stations #2, #6 and #9 have been purchased and installed. The repair of the Lift Station #1 surge protection device is finished.

The replacement of the SWTP Bulk Bleach and Water plant #1 check valves for pumps #3 and #4 are in process.  Also, in process are: replacement of the 3” mainline valve and bypass plus the low registering meter at Austin Elementary; buying a backup p&p belt for the WWTP; and the replacement of 3 new automation valves for the SWTP.

The fire hydrant repairs plus the painting of 412 hydrants and the replacement of missing or broken blue dots are in process.
