Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – October 31, 2023

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Community/Administration building on the evening of October 31, 2023. The next meeting is scheduled for November 28, 2023, in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at 3:30 p.m.

Parks Report

The first stationary workout fixtures for the West end of the Park are on order and will be installed this winter.

The new frisbee golf course equipment for Pecan Grove Park is complete except for signs and is already being enjoyed.

The bench commemorating Joe Wooley’s service to Pecan Grove is being fabricated and should be installed in about a month. If is planned for a spot near the gate in the park that leads to the fire station.

Plans were finalized for the installation of 40 more trees with irrigation in Pecan Grove Park that are being donated by the county.

Operator’s Report – Si Environmental, LLC

September 2023 testing showed that the drinking water system met the state and federal compliance standard for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month in wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) with the plant operating at 48% of capacity.

The following repairs and replacements have been completed:

Water Plant #1 Booster Pump #2 and motor; Water Plant #2 generator; and LS #8 fence; 2514 Silent Shore manhole and driveway.

The SWTP sludge thickener drive is inoperable and will be repaired. Also, the HSP #1 motor was replaced, and we will be repairing the failed motor for a backup. The #2 motor also needs repaired. On Filter Skids A and B, a total of 6 membranes will be replaced and in the next year we plan the complete replacement of Skid C.

We will be repairing booster pump #4 at Water Plant #1 and at Water Plant #2 the water pump on the generator will be replaced.

The water valve survey has been completed.

The South Storm Water Pump Station pump #4 repairs are in process and should be complete by mid-November.

The following repairs or replacements are in process: installation of a new access door key code pad for the administration building, which is waiting on county approval; a portable generator for the lift stations is on order with delivery in 8-9 months; replacement of the guide rail system at the WWTP; replacement of 3” backflow device for the raw water at the SWTP;

The program to replace meters registering over 1.5M water in the district is 1,258 meters since January.
