Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – November 18, 2025

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove MUD Administration/Community Building at 5:30 p.m. on November 18, 2025. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the PGMUD building.

The PGVFD is planning to transition to an Emergency Services District (ESD) to protect our fire service areas.

Parks and Facilities Report

The pool is still open for lap swimming in the mornings, but with no lifeguards. A new contract for lifeguards for 2026 has been solicited. In the fitness center, the floor has been replaced with cushioned floors and the new workout equipment has been installed.

Remember that key-card access to the pool, workout room, and tennis courts is now required. Renewal notices were mailed out November 13th. Cards can be purchased or renewed at the MUD office.

The Club at Pecan Grove

The Club manager reported that the Grove course is planned to open in December. Meanwhile, club membership is growing. The renovations of the swimming pool, tennis courts, and fitness center are bringing renewed interest in joining up.

Garbage Holiday Schedule

This year Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day all fall on a Thursday. GFL, our trash and recycle collection company has asked to change the pickup dates from the actual holidays to the next Saturday, two days after the holiday. Therefore, the pickup will be on Saturdays as follows: 11/29/2025; 12/27/2025; and 1/3/2026. This will include recycle for those who recycle on Thursday.

October 2025 testing showed that the drinking water and wastewater systems met the state and federal compliance standards for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month.

Repairs or replacement completed in October include: refurbishing of the SWTP Sedimentation Basin actuators; replacement of the SWTP GAC actuators #1 and #2 Skid A and C manifolds at the SWTP; The replacement of the SWTP generator interface; the replacement of the Water Plant #2 booster pump #1 contacts; cleaning of the bar screen at the South storm water pump station.

Items in process are: replacement at the SWTP of the high service pump #3 repair and replace its motor; repair of SWTP lift pump #1 repair; the repair of the WWTP belt press booster pump.

New requested actions that the board approved were: purchase of bearings and collars for the SWTP sedimentation basin; purchase skid valves for inventory; replace and upsize the SWTP PAC pump; replace the SWTP lift pump #2; replace the SWTP thickener sludge pump #1; repair the PGMUD backhoe.

Old water meters continue to be replaced, with 23 replaced this month for a total of 1,777 replaced to date since January 2023.

SI Enviro is seeking 3rd party damage claims for damages caused by one outside contractor working for other parties; and a reimbursement for tapping into a fire hydrant without going through a meter.
