Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – September 26, 2023

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Community/Administration building on the evening of September 26, 2023. The next meeting is scheduled for October 31, 2023, (Halloween) in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at noon.

Parks Report

The first stationary workout fixtures at the West end of the Park to be installed is this winter.

The new frisbee golf course equipment for Pecan Grove Park is 90% complete and already being enjoyed.

The bench commemorating Joe Wooley’s service to Pecan Grove is planned for a spot near the gate in the park that leads to the fire station.

Reservations for the pavilion, the Administration building and the fall baseball fields are filling up.

Operator’s Report – Si Environmental, LLC

August 2023 testing showed that the drinking water system met the state and federal compliance standard for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month in wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) with the plant operating at 48% of capacity.

At the Surface Water Treatment Plant (SWTP) the following repairs and replacements have been completed: the backwash strainer on Skid C; LAS pump replacement; the tree growth in the basin.  The sludge thickner drive is inoperable and is currently being evaluated for future resolution.

The South Storm Water Pump station pump #4 are repairs are in process and should be complete by mid-October. The generator fuel leak there has been repaired.

The following repairs or replacements are in process: At water plant #1 the #2 booster pump; installation of  a new access pad for the administration building; maintenance on Water Plant #2 generator; replacement of the brick fence at lift station #8; a portable generator for the lift stations is on order with delivery in 8-9 months.

Si Enviro asked for the following new requests: Replacement of the guide rail system at the WWTP; replacement of 3” backflow device for the raw water canons at the SWTP; repair of the manhole and driveway at 2514 Silent Shore.

The program to replace high usage meters in the district has completed replacement of 1,165 meters this year.
