Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – November 28, 2023

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Community/Administration building on the evening of November 28, 2023. The next meeting is scheduled for December 19, 2023, in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at 5:30 p.m.

Commissioner Morales Remarks

Commissioner Vincent Morales attended the meeting and answered a question about the timing of the traffic light at the corner of FM359 and McCrary Rd. He is having the county Road and Bridge look into the concern.

Parks Report

The first stationary workout fixtures for the West end of the Park are on order and will be installed this winter.

The new frisbee golf course equipment for Pecan Grove Park is complete.

The bench commemorating Joe Wooley’s service to Pecan Grove is being fabricated and should be installed in December.

The installation of 40 more trees with irrigation in Pecan Grove Park that are being donated by the county will proceed when approved by Commissioner’s Court.

A new remote operated gate for Pecan Grove Park is on order and should be installed this winter.

Operator’s Report – Si Environmental, LLC

October 2023 testing showed that the drinking water system met the state and federal compliance standard for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month in wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) with the plant operating at 48% of capacity.

The Water Plant #2 generator water pump has been replaced.

At the SWTP the sludge thickner drive repair is in process, as well as the replacement of the 3” backflow device for the raw water canons and the 4” backflow for the belt press. Also there the HSP #1 failed motor is being repaired for a backup. The #2 motor repair is in process. On Filter Skids A and B a total of 6 membranes have been ordered and will be installed in January.

Repair of booster pump #4 at Water Plant 1 is in process.

The sanitary sewer manhole survey is in process.

The South Storm Water Pump station pump #4 repairs are in process and should be complete by mid-November.

The following repairs or replacements are in process: installation of a new access key pad for the administration building is in process; a portable generator for the lift stations is on order with delivery in 8-9 months; replacement of the guide rail system at the WWTP will begin December 10th.

The board approved the following actions: replacement of the damaged ClO2 tank at the SWTP; repair or replacement of the #3 booster motor at Water Plant #1; replacement of 2 sulfur dioxide  scales at the WWTP.

The program to replace high usage residence meters in the district has replaced 1,310 meters this year with 52 this month.
