Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – June 27, 2023

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Community/Administration building on the evening of June 27, 2023. The next meeting is scheduled for July 31, 2023, in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at 5:30 p.m.

Bond Sale

A representative from Masterson Advisors presented the proposal for the sale of $6.6M in 20 year unlimited tax bonds by the MUD board for construction projects. Baker Group was the most favorable bidder at a rate of 3.94385%. The board voted to accept the Baker Group bid.

Parks Report

There were five new trash cans installed along the Walking Trail around Pecan Grove Park. Tree trimming along the trail was also completed. The plans for the first stationary workout fixtures at the West end of the Park on the new trail are being finalized. The Parks Committee is also considering a new layout for the Frisbee golf course.

The Levee walking trail will be redressed with additional material.

Windmill Park’s pavilion and sidewalk have been re-grouted.

Dead landscaping around the community/administration building has been replaced.

Landscaping at Memorial Park has also been replaced and new flowers added.

Operator’s Report

June 2023 testing showed that the drinking water system met the state and federal compliance standard for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month in wastewater.

At the Surface Water Treatment Plant (SWTP) the purchase and repair of the level transmitter for the clearwater mixing chamber is pending with the vendor. The parts are on order for the SWTP backwash strainer with an early fall completion. The bleach pump replacement at the SWTP has been received and is being installed. Two GAC pump motor have been replaced.

At the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) the sludge pump VFD cabinet cooler repair is in process and should be completed in June.

The repair of the #1 pump at Lift Station #9 is complete as well as the #4 pump at the South Storm Water Pump Station.

The #1 pump at Lift Station #2 repair is in process, while the repair of the #1 pump at Lift Station #9 is complete.

The operator got approval to replace the two chlorine scales at the WWTP. Approval was also obtained for repair of the South Storm Water Pump Station Pump #4.

At the SWTP replacements for a belt press belt, the PAC pump and air compressors for the MCC building A/C and for the filter skids.

On June 5, 2023, staff attended radio training by the FB Office of Emergency Management.

The annual Consumer Confidence Report was mailed to bill paying customers in June.

The program to replace high usage meters in the district has completed replacement of 871 meters this year.
