Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – August 29, 2023

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Community/Administration building on the evening of August 29, 2023. The next meeting is scheduled for September 26, 2023, in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at 5:30 p.m.

Parks Report

The order for the first stationary workout fixtures at the West end of the Park was placed. Installation is expected for this winter.

The order for the new frisbee golf course equipment for Pecan Grove Park has been placed with delivery expected in a couple of months

A bench commemorating Joe Wooley’s service to Pecan Grove is planned for a spot near the gate in the park that leads to the fire station.

Reservations for the pavilion, the Administration building and the fall baseball fields are filling up.

Operator’s Report

 

July 2023 testing showed that the drinking water system met the state and federal compliance standard for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month in wastewater.

GM Services finished testing performance at the district’s wells with no problems found.

At the Surface Water Treatment Plant (SWTP) the following repairs and replacements have been completed: Bleach pump; PAC Pump; air compressor for the filter skids; unit #1 air conditioner; LAS pump. The following repairs or replacements are in process: Backwash strainer at skid C. The LAS pump replacement is in process.

At the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) the replacement chlorine scales has been replaced. The South Storm Water Pump station pump #4 are repairs are in process.

Si Enviro asked for the following new requests: The purchase of a portable generator for the lift stations for approximately $89,000; replacement of the fence at Lift Station #8 for $11,500; repair of #2 booster pump and the motor at Water Plant #1; to begin the scheduled valve and manhole survey planned in next year’s budget; removal of some trash trees at the SWTP; repair of the South storm water pump station generator fuel leak; perform maintenance on Water Plant #2 generator; and install a new access pad for the administration building.

Si Enviro will present rate order changes at the September meeting.

The program to replace high usage meters in the district has completed replacement of 1,129 meters this year.
