PGVFD Report — March 2026

Parks and Facilities Report

The pool is closed for replacement of the plaster lining. See Engineers report for details. We have contracted for pool maintenance and lifeguards for the upcoming season.

Four new benches have been ordered for the Tennis courts.

The contract constables are helping to patrol the gym and tennis court areas due to disruptive activity by minors at night.

New fencing for the West side of Pecan Grove Park and for part of Belin Park is planned and materials are on order.

The flush valves in the restrooms at PG Park were replaced.

We continue to have plumbing problems in the Administration building. Odyssey is working with the contractor on fixes.

We continue to issue Key cards with some 902 active cards.

The Club at Pecan Grove

Construction on the new greens began March 31st. As part of this process, a chemical called Basamid is being applied. This is a very powerful treatment used to eliminate existing organic matter so the new sprigs can establish properly without competition. Please do not walk on or allow pets near the greens during this time. We cannot stress this enough—this step is critical to the success of the project; not to mention your own safety.

A nursery will be installed at the back of the driving range to grow grass for future repairs—this will significantly improve our ability to maintain consistent playing conditions. There have been several recent upgrades, including new tee markers, flags, and cups. These small improvements contribute to a better overall experience. Sean (new Course Supervisor) and his crews have been continuing to selectively trim trees on the course.

Sean was contacted about a drainage issue for a home owner on the course. It is an area where the ground has settled. It is being remedied with a small trench to the ditch close by.

Enhancements to the clubhouse continue, particularly in the kitchen and bar areas. We have added sound-dampening elements and new artwork to improve the dining experience, along with necessary kitchen repairs. The ballroom has undergone several improvements, and exterior window trim repairs have been completed. As a result of these upgrades, event bookings have increased significantly.

Parking lot lighting is now fully operational and set on a dusk-to-dawn timer.

Membership continues to trend positively. Since the beginning of the year, we have achieved a net gain of 21 golf members.
