Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – July 29, 2025

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove MUD Administration/Community Building at 12:00 p.m. on July 29, 2025. A special budget meeting took place at 11:00 a.m. on August 7, at the PGMUD building. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at noon, in the PGMUD building.

Parks and Facilities Report

Repair to the damage to the walking trail in Pecan Grove Park (PGP) is complete and the addition of Decomposed Granit to the levee walking trail should begin in August. The flush valves in the restrooms in the park have been replaced. The problems with the plumbing at the building are still being resolved. The running board fence at PG park was power washed in July.

Golf Cart Rules

The use of golf carts on the streets of Pecan Grove has requirements that we all should know:

  1. Only licensed drivers are allowed to operate a golf cart on streets.

  2. Plates are required if you are driving on streets outside the district.

  3. Drive only on streets with speed limits of 35 mph or less.

  4. To operate on residential streets after dark the golf cart must have head and tail lights and mirrors plus a slow-moving vehicle symbol (reflective red triangle on rear).

The Club at Pecan Grove

There were over 700 guest golf rounds played in July. Repair work is continuing on the to the golf course irrigation system starting with Grove. The work on the greens is continuing including fumigation for nematodes. The Grove course work should be done by sometime in September but will not be playable until October. Repair of the irrigation on the Plantation course should begin in October, but the repairs on the course itself will not begin until next April.

The repairs to the lake in front of the club are almost complete with some stonework left to be done. Much of this work was done on a voluntary basis by Club members. Mulch has been distributed to muddy areas around all three courses.

The Club has a new manager, “Smiley” Martinez.

See Engineers report for status of the swimming pool rehabilitation and the upgrade of the tennis courts. Remember that key-card access to the pool, workout room and tennis courts is now required. Cards can be purchased at the MUD office.

June 2025 testing showed that the drinking water and wastewater systems met the state and federal compliance standards for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month.

Repairs or replacement completed in June include: the replacement of the disinfection basin sample pump; the repair of the motor for the mixer for the Raw Tank #1; the installation of new cameras at the WWTP is in process. repair of the SWTP Skid C pump and motor; Lift Station #10 Lift Pump #1 replacement; replacement of the motor for the SWTP fork lift; the purchase of trailer mounted bypass pump; Water Plant #2 check valves #3 and #4 replacement;

Items in process are: repair of the SWTP high service pump #3 and replace its motor; replacement of SWTP GAC actuators 1 and 2; replacement of SWTP Skid valve; WWTP lift pump #1 repair; fire hydrant painting should be complete in early August.

New requested actions that the board approved were: replacement of the SWTP laboratory streaming water meter; repair of the WWTP Blower #2; replacement of the flow control valves at the 3 water plants.

Performance testing on the district’s wells revealed no problems noted during the inspection.

Old water meters continue to be replaced, with none replaced in this month for a total of 1,734 replaced to date since January 2023.

SI Enviro is seeking 3rd party damage claims for damages caused by 1 outside contractor working for other parties.
