Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – October 29, 2024

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District (PGMUD) took place at the Pecan Grove Administration Building at 3:30 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 19, 2024, at 3:30 p.m., a week earlier than usual due to Thanksgiving.

Since PGMUD and the homeowner’s associations are transitioning security coverage from the sheriff’s office to the Precinct 1 Constable’s office, no statistics were available for October.

Parks Report

During October, a broken picnic table was replaced and new flags for the frisbee golf were received.

The Administration building hosted voting on Election Day.

There are repairs to the tennis court fencing are in process. In addition, trash cans in the tennis court and pool areas are being replaced.

A new fountain was installed in the lake in front of the club.

New wooden fencing was installed around the AC unit at the work out building. Also, work has begun on extensive repairs to the work out building and should be finished by the end of the year.

Operator’s Report – Si Environmental, LLC

September 2024 testing showed that the drinking water and wastewater systems met the state and federal compliance standards for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month.

The replacement of the solenoid valve manifold and mixer pump at the SWTP is complete. As is the replacement of the sedimentation basin mixer pump #3. In addition, the purchase of heaters for the SWTP is complete. The generator receptacles for lift stations #2, #6 and #9 have been purchased and installed. The repair of the Lift Station #1 surge protection device is finished.

The replacement of the SWTP Bulk Bleach and Water plant #1 check valves for pumps #3 and #4 are in process.  Also, in process are: replacement of the 3” mainline valve and bypass plus the low registering meter at Austin Elementary; buying a backup p&p belt for the WWTP; and the replacement of 3 new automation valves for the SWTP.

The fire hydrant repairs plus the painting of 412 hydrants and the replacement of missing or broken blue dots are in process.

Si Environmental requested authorization to replace: the #1 and #2 check valves at water plant #2 plus the repair of Lift Station #9 lift pump and repair of the levee gate valve near the club.

The program to replace high usage residence meters in the district has replaced 1,650 meters since January 2023 with 7 this month.
