Projects Under Construction
Detention Basin Outfall Repair
An area of Grove 4/5 Detention Basin has settled. See picture:
Project includes the excavation of material below the eroded area to replace it with cement stabilized sand.
Contractor has assessed damages and prepared a proposal of $12,500. Board has authorized Contractor to perform repair work.
Programming Updates for the Surface Water Treatment Plant
Project includes upgrading the automation and computer components of the plant, including all necessary programming.
Contractor is under construction with the upgraded components. Current schedule has the Contractor completed by early November 2024. Board approved Pay Request No. 2 for $122,140.00.
Belt Press Upgrades at Surface Water Treatment Plant
Project includes upgrading the belt press at the surface water treatment plant to allow for consistent operation and reduce the overall run time of the process.
Notice to proceed was issued on September 9, 2024. Contractor and Engineer are working through submittals. Expected construction schedule is as follows:
- Mobilization on site – February 2025.
- Substantial Completion – April 2025.
- Final Completion – May 2025.
Wastewater Treatment Electrical Improvements & Generator Replacement
Project includes update of the control panel and related electrical system at the wastewater treatment plant as well as replacement of the existing generator.
Contractor waiting on control center delivery which is expected to arrive before the end of 2024.
South Pump Station Generator
Project includes replacement of existing diesel generator at the South Pump Station.
Contractor to begin removal of existing generator and installation of new generator in November 2024.
Elevated Storage Tank and Surface Water Plant Recoating
Project includes recoating of elevated storage tank and components of the surface water treatment plant. Recoating of the elevated storage tank will include the Pecan Grove graphic on both the north and south facing sides.
Contractor is nearly complete with work at the surface water treatment plant. Contractor completed applying the Pegan Grove logo to North and South facing sides of water tower. See picture:
Contractor is on schedule to be fully complete by the end of 2024. Board approved Pay Request No. 4 in the amount of $122,427.00.
Storm Sewer Outfall Rehabilitation
Project includes repair and/or replacement of many storm sewer outfalls throughout the District based on inspections.
Project restarted and Contractor is completing additional televising. Board approved Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $13,113.90.
Projects Under Design
South Pump Station Headwall Modification and Redundant Closure Devices
Project includes modification of headwall structure for the South Stormwater pump station to allow for the design and installation of back up closure devices.
Design Paid for out of Bond Issue No. 18 and construction to be funded by a future bond issue.
Project has received approval from City of Richmond and Fort Bend County Drainage District and is with Fort Bend County Engineer for final approval.
North Pump Station Redundant Closure Devices
Project includes design and installation of back up closure devices at the North Pump Station.
Design Paid for out of Bond Issue No. 18 and construction to be funded by a future bond issue.
Project has received approval from City of Richmond and Fort Bend County Drainage District and is with Fort Bend County Engineer for final approval.
Waterline Rehabilitation – Phase Two
Project includes replacement of aging waterline infrastructure within Plantation, Section One with additional location of Mayweather Lane between Plantation Drive and Morton League Road.
Project to be paid out of Bond Issue No. 18 bond funds.
Construction plans are complete. Project is currently advertising for construction will be presented to the Board at the November 2024 meeting.
Water Well No. 1 Plug & Abandon
Project includes abandonment and plugging of water well No. 1 at the Water Treatment Plant.
Design Paid for out of Operating Funds.
Engineer to complete bid solicitation package and project schedule to be presented to Board at November 2024 meeting.
Water Well No. 2 Investigation
Project includes investigation of water quality samples of Well No.2.
Design Paid for out of Operating Funds.
Engineer received water quality samples indicating a negative presence of coliform bacteria. Water Well No.2 is currently being televised with findings to be presented to the Board at the November 2024 meeting.
WWTP Belt Press Replacement
Project includes design to update the belt press and corresponding electrical components at the WWTP.
Engineer is working on background documentation. Project schedule will be presented by the Engineer to the Board at the November 2024 meeting.
Recoating of Hydropneumatics Tanks (HPTs) at Water Plant No. 1
Project includes recoatings for the interior and exterior of the two (2) hydropneumatics tanks at Water Plant No. 1, including minor rehabilitation and replacement of interior components that may have deteriorated.
Engineer is working on background documentation. Project schedule will be presented by the Engineer to the Board at the November 2024 meeting.
Jones Creek Gabion Basket Repair
Project includes repair work to sinkholes and damaged gabion baskets along Jones Creek.
Engineer met Contractors onsite to assess scope of repair work. Engineer completed site assessment as required by FEMA and TDEM reimbursement. Preliminary construction cost estimate to be presented to the Board at November 2024 meeting.
Admin Building HVAC Investigation
The District requested an HVAC investigation into the design and installation to get the system to operate more efficiently. Engineer coordinating with mechanical and electrical engineers to perform assessment.
County Club Improvements
Engineer met with a Landscape Architect to discuss improvements to tennis courts and swimming pools. The following two projects were proposed to the Board.
- Tennis Court Rehabilitation
- Project Description: The project includes resurfacing, striping, upgraded fencing and windscreens and backboard, ADA compliance with ramps and handrails, ice machine reconstruction.
- Total Construction Cost: $100,000.
- Professional Servies: $15,000.
- Tennis Court Lighting and Electrical Improvements
- Project Description: The project includes replacing and upgrading lighting, including control panel and wiring.
- Total Construction Cost: $110,000.
- Professional Services: $25,000.
Board authorized the Tennis Court Rehabilitation and Tennis Lighting and Electrical Improvements projects and bid solicitations.
Additional Engineering Items
Feasibility for Development at Brandt Road and Mason Road
The District requested additional renderings from the proposed commercial development located at the corner of Brandt Road and Mason Road. The Board asked several questions of the potential developers focusing on visibility, development standards, and potential impacts to the District. The Board decided to table action until November 2024 meeting.
