We hope everyone is safe inside your home or hopefully at a location outside the MUD. Last night, we were able to get a plug in the largest (60″) of the 3 pipes from the detention pond outside the levee that was allowing flood water from Oyster Creek into our system. That slowed down the entrance of flood water from Oyster Creek. We are heading out this morning with our certified dive team who battled the conditions to make it to us to try to install two more plugs to cover the other smaller two pipes. Our stormwater pump stations are pumping and we are trying to keep up with the amount of rainfall. The Brazos River is still rising. The National Weather Service forecasts show the Brazos to crest at 59′ on Thursday morning. According to the Pecan Grove Baptist Church they are full of evacuees and cannot accept more. A list of shelters can be found on the Fort Bend County OEM website.
