Highlights of Pecan Grove MUD Meeting – September 27, 2022

The regular monthly meeting of the Pecan Grove Municipal Utility District was held at the Pecan Grove Community/Administration building on the evening of September 27, 2022. The next meeting is scheduled for October 25, 2022 in the PGMUD Community/Administration building at 5:30 p.m.

Annual Audit

The board moved to engage McGrath & Co. to audit of the district basic financial statements.

Parks Report

New aerators have been installed in Bullhead Slough that bubble the surface of the water instead of fountain.

An online portal on our website for event reservations at the new Pecan Grove MUD Administration/ Community building as well as for the park pavilion is now available.

Trash Report

The August report for trash collection shows 25 issues (11 missed pickups) over 57,109 collections for a collection rate of 99.956%.

Order Setting Tax Rates

For the upcoming 2022 tax year the board adopted a rate of $0.615 per $100 of valuation. The rate is composed of $0.30 debt service and $0.315 for maintenance and operations. This is down from $0.635 per $100 or $0.02 from the 2021 tax rate.

Operator’s Report

  • September testing confirmed the drinking water system met the state and federal compliance standard for disinfection and there were no permit excursions for the month in wastewater.
  • There was some vandalism of chain between bollards at district owned properties along the levee and obvious damage to the levee from vehicles.
  • The operator pulled booster pump #3 at water plant #3 and repairs are in process.
  • Oil/water separators will be installed on all air compressors at the SWT when the parts arrive.
  • The Surface Water Plant thickener sludge pump has been repaired and reinstalled.
  • The SWT sedimentation basin main drive shaft will be repaired.
  • The SWT clear well mixing chamber level transmitter will be replaced.
  • Performance testing of Water Wells 3, 4 and 5 was completed with no problems found.
