New Park in Precinct #3
Chris Elam from Precinct #3 Commissioner Meyer’s office discussed the plans for a proposed new 16 acre park south of our Surface Water Treatment Plant and northwest of Frost Elementary School. This information has also been shared with Fort Bend Municipal Utility District Nos. 143,146, 165 and 194. The commissioner’s office has asked these MUDs for input on development of this park. The park will follow the new Brandt Road extension.
Electric Supply Contract
Dave Ciarella reported on current pricing for electricity and the trends in electrical contract prices.

Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing
Flushing of the District’s water lines will be conducted beginning on Monday, June 14, 2021. The flushing may continue until Friday, June 18, 2021.
Significant Activities for March
Several repairs were in process for March for the Surface Water Treatment plant including:
- Ammonia analyzer replacement
- Turbidimeter replacement
- Sedimentation Basin Dewatering Pipe Reinstallation and the annual Membrane Health Check
In addition, the Water Plant #2 emergency generator is awaiting repair parts to get that unit back in service.
Planned Future Repairs
Wastewater Treatment Plant Step Screen Repair and Surface Water Treatment Plant High Service Pump #3 Motor Replacement all need repair.
There will be no garbage pickup or recycling on Memorial Day, May 31st. Normal pick-up will resume on June 3rd.
Flags in the parks were lowered to half-staff in the parks to honor victims in Boulder and Indianapolis plus the passing of Walter Mondale and Congressman Alcee Hastings.
Two trees beside Bullhead Slough may need to be removed due to erosion.
There were 6 pavilion reservations utilized at Pecan Grove Park in April.
Board of Directors Vacancy
Director Bertrand is moving out of the district and filling his vacant position was considered in Executive Session. After the Executive Session, resident Ed Gordon was approved as a new director to fill the vacancy.
